Who needs writers when you have a new drug advertisement every hour to warn of side effects like urges to gamble or sudden bouts of depression so severe you may want to kill yourself? The drugs I speak of are for restless leg syndrome and nicotine addiction. With side affects like these, it makes you wonder if restless legs and nic fits aren't just the bodies way of saying "take a vacation".

<dc:subject />

Foster - Lefkowitz Wedding

Good friends Sherri Lefkowitz and John Foster tied the knot on September 4th 2005.

Browse Album...

<dc:subject />

Halloween 2005

DABU Halloween 2005! The best bar here is at a Mexican restaurant and there is a 10 PM curfew for minors. While it's a safe area, it makes me miss the excitement of Vancouver where the bars are open unitl 4 AM and the next street corner drug bust may happen before your very eyes.

I have yet to play hockey here though there is a rink. I'll work on getting some time off work to hit the ice one Friday morning coming up. I have a feeling that the play will not quite compare to that at 8 Rinks in Burnaby, BC.

To be fair to Foster City, it is a nice place, just a little too quiet for me. San Francisco is too far from the office and the rents there are a bit higher. So the trick is to find an area with lower rent (I HATE paying rent...see me later for an explanation if you are confused as to why), and with more to offer.

So far San Mateo has a nice shopping and dining district with quite a few apartments. Palo Alto also looks promising. I'll update this when it gets closer to move time (February).

<dc:subject />

Cross Country Truck Trek

Photos from the trip to Cali. Did this solo in 51 hours. 2951 miles. That averages out to about 58 miles per hour.

Chronology below:

Day 1 from DC to Radford ~ 250 miles

Day 2 from Radford to
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Conway <state w:st="on"></state>AR ~ 792 miles

Day 3 from <city w:st="on"></city>Conway <state w:st="on"></state>AR to

<city w:st="on"></city>Las Vegas <state w:st="on"></state>NM ~ 797 miles

Day 4 from <city w:st="on"></city>Las Vegas <state w:st="on"></state>NM to

<city w:st="on"></city>Barstow <state w:st="on"></state>CA ~ 797 miles

Day 5 from <city w:st="on"></city>Barstow <state w:st="on"></state>CA to
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Foster City <state w:st="on"></state>CA ~ 410 miles

66W to 81S. Trip to Radford started with heavy rain. I left at noon and arrived at 4:30. Nice to visit the parents and get some good Italian food at Sal’s.

81S to 40W. From Radford to <city w:st="on"></city>
<place w:st="on"></place>
Conway dry and hot in AR. Left at 430 am EST and arrived at 415 pm CST. Total: 12 hours 45 minutes. First sighting of armadillos. Nothing remarkable about TN. Construction around
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Nashville . <city w:st="on"></city>
<place w:st="on"></place>
Knoxville looks like a good town to drink in.
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Conway <state w:st="on"></state>AR is not. The only dry Chili’s restaurant in the USA is there and I found it.

40W to 25N. <city w:st="on"></city>Conway to
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Las Vegas <state w:st="on"></state>NM dry and flat. Very cool sunrise over the
<place w:st="on"></place>
Ozark Mountains in my rear view mirror.
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Oklahoma City rough roads and bad drivers – nobody willing to merge so lots of braking and accelerating to avoid morning rush hour accidents. Nice people in TX. Rain in NM on the way to
<place w:st="on"></place>
<city w:st="on"></city>Las Vegas . Warm welcome by Renee’s Father and Stepmother. Best food on the trip at El Rialto.

25S to 40W. <city w:st="on"></city>Las Vegas to <city w:st="on"></city>Barstow <state w:st="on"></state>CA. 106 degrees across the
<place w:st="on"></place>
Mojave desert at 6:00 pm. Good thing I didn’t leave early. Hot, dry, and boring. Now the trip is getting to be no fun and I just want to get there.

15N to 5N. endless desert and straight roads. Make good time at over 70 mph but man it’s a tedious trip. Traffic picks up after breakfast even on a Sunday morning. Tired of the CDs I leave the windows down. Gas at its highest 2.79 a gallon in some places. CA is gonna be great.

Throughout the trip, I had no trouble with the truck. Range was good and most times I had to stop before we needed gas. 30 gal tank is great. Just expensive at fill up time with the average cost being around $60 a tankfull. A little better planning, and each day could have been done with only one stop along the way.
